Blood & Marrow April 2017 Vol 1.4 |
Last two decades have seen a paradigm shift in L our approach towards tackling many diseases especially blood cancers. In the field of haematology there has been unprecedented evolution of biological therapies. Better understanding of disease processes and development of innovative diagnostic modalities has resulted in precision medicine. The fast pace with which the medical science is progressing is making it difficult for developing countries like Pakistan to catch up with new advances. We are lagging behind in bringing about the changes required to diagnose and treat many of the malignant as well as non-malignant blood diseases in line with international standards. In this scenario, Pakistan Society of Haematology (PSH) appears to be the ray of hope. At a recently concluded PSH annual conference number of national and international haematologists met to collaborate for advancement of haematology in Pakistan. In this issue you can have a glance at recently held annual conference of PSH.
